The Ten Safety
Commands
1. A golf club can be
like a dangerous weapon. It should never be swung in a group.
2.
Junior Golfers should swing in designated, “swing” areas only.
3. Always approach another golfer
who has a club in the address position from the front facing him.
4. Never position yourself in the target line of a person swinging the club.
5. Pair up with another student so a club
can be shared. One student can become the “watchdog” for the others.
6. Hitting line should
never be crossed and no student should ever be allowed to hit in front of the established line.
7.
Students
should hold their golf club at the club head end whenever an instructor is demonstrating or organizing. This will discourage
swinging the club.
8. "Fore!" is shouted as a warning during a golf game when it appears possible that a golf ball may hit
other players or spectators, and
using the term “fore” is not a substitute for
following safety procedures.
9.
Stop-look-and-swing method should be used prior to each swing when playing golf.
10.
Always be very careful when other golfers are around, a half-swing or a hip height should be used as a precaution. Note:
Half-swings incorporate all the fundamental movements in a full swing.
